When the game finishes and all the boys are shaking hands and you hear both sets of players saying “that was so much fun”, for me as a coach that’s the victory. This morning was a great game of football, we battled hard, played some lovely pass and move football but what I was most pleased with was we took our chances. We went 1-0 down and the boys kept their heads up and carried on playing our football, an amazing run from defence by Adhvik dribbling round numerous players saw him place an a shot in the back of the net to equalise. A few minutes later the ball came out to Freddy on the edge of the box and once again he placed his shot in the back of the net. The 4th quarter saw Dillan run from the back down the left wing cut inside and hit a rocket shot once again in the back of the net. Ruislip Rangers got a goal back from an amazing corner kick, and they kept the pressure on, we battled and battled and thanks to some amazing tackles by Farryl we kept the lead. As a team we have developed tremendously over the first half of the season and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect end before Christmas break. Farryl was outstanding both in goal and defence this morning which earned him Man of the Match, closely followed by Adhvik. Well done to all the boys for sticking to our plan even when it hasn’t gone our way and like I said to them it finally paid off. Roll on January.
