Goals for Kaidyn and Jahan
We have only played St Josephs in tournaments before losing 0-2 (5 a-side), 1-2 (6 a-side) and 0-0 (1-3 pens, Larkspur Final).
Goals - Jahan & Kaidyn
We started well, Thomas took a corner on the right which Jahan crashed hard into the roof of the net, 1-0. Brihad then went on a solo run, but shot over. St Josephs then hit us on the break and Filip made a good save. Second quarter Kaidyn played right midfield, he immediately took on board my advice to cut in and shoot with his left, stinging the keepers hands from 25 yards. It wasn't cleared and Scott pounced, but his shot was also saved. Emilis showed off some great footwork before hitting the post, Kaidyn's follow up was also saved. Jahan then turned provider taking a corner from the right which got through to Kaidyn at the back post, his driven finish was, like Jahan's his first league goal of the season. Half Time 2-0.
Brihad won tackles all game and after retreating, he shut down well, took possession, played the ball to Thomas inside the area, but he shot over. Chris then hit a cross shot into the box from the right which Emilis would normally gobble up, but this time he couldn't direct a shot towards goal. Then a through ball baffled Chris and Kaidyn, neither taking ownership, the striker ran onto it and hit a low shot across Sam into the bottom left corner, 2-1. St Josephs accepted the lifeline and pressed for an equaliser, but Filip managed to keep a clean sheet for the three quarters he was between the sticks, Full time 2-1.
There were great performances from Kaidyn and Brihad, but Jahan was MOTM for his goal and an assist.
