Runners up in Larkspur tournament

Second in group

St Josephs 1-2

They are the highest ranked Harrow league team in the tournament, playing two leagues above us. We started the tournament slowly and when Kaidyn and Chris were playing too high a line on their throw, they got behind us and opened the scoring 0-1. Kaidyn then made amends by sliding a pass through to Brihad who finished well, 1-1. Chris then got caught in possession and they broke away and scored again. I overheard there coach congratulating them on beating the best team in the tournament.

Princes Park B 2-1

Matthew played a good square ball to Brihad who scored his second goal. Chris then played a long ball to Brihad ho passed to Sam to finish, 2-0.

Hemel 2-0

Emilis pounced on a defensive error to open the scoring, 1-0. Emilis then dribbled well before scoring at the near post.

Hanwell Town C 0-0

Close game with chances but no goals.

Larkspur Rovers A 0-1

We thought we neede something from the game to get into the semis, Larkspur had found the group heavy going, but took an early lead and we struggled to respond. It turned out we had somehow scraped through by one goal.

Semi Final - Ickenham Youth C 1-0

We looked to be heading for a draw until Ronnie was brought on for the last three minutes, he took a free kick from the halfway line that went through a crowd of players into the bottom left corner.

Final - St Josephs 0-0 (1-3 penalties)

The final was a very tight affair and the cheers from the clubhouse meant England were scoring against Panama. It went to penalties, they went first and scored, Chris smashed one straight but high into the roof of the net to keep us level. They scored again and when Brihad dragged his penalty wide, we were trailing 2-1. Filip guessed right but, couldn't stop them winning 3-1, Emilis didn't even get to take the third penalty.

The team were not happy coming runners up and although they were grumpy collecting their trophies, on refection they should be proud.
