Stones blast Nine

Hatrick for Riley
We have only ever played Headstone's A team who beat us easily in our fourth ever game and recently 0-2 in the Brookhouse tournamant.
Goals - Riley 3, Alfie & Sam 2, Kaidyn, Chris.
We started quickly Chris playing a decent ball to Scott who assisted Riley, 1-0. Sam then drove forward with the ball and added our second. Alfie cut inside, but had his shot saved, moments later he then took a quick throw to Riley who hit a shot on target, which was deflected in by a Headstone defender. Riley completed his first quarter hatrick, I missed the goal as the substitute was distracting me. Sam then took a long throw which Kaidyn smashed high into the net. This was Kaidyn's first game back after a broken foot, so a great way to return. We were well and truly on top and the teams overconfidence nearly let them in only for Joe to make an excellent last man tackle to thwart an attack on the half way line. Before half time Sam was lurking on the edge of the box for our corner, when the ball broke to him, he confidently added his second goal of the day. The final action of the half saw an Alfie shot blocked only for him to crack home the rebound, in off the post. Half time 7-0.
After halftime Headstone were defending stoutly but after keeping us out for ten minutes the referee realised that they had been playing with an extra man on the pitch. Once the sides were even they broke away and scored to make it 7-1, but then the goals began to flow again. Riley played a great ball down the channel to Chris who played a super diagonal cross and Alfie applied the finishing touch with another good finish. Chris scored our final goal cutting across the area before hitting a hard low drive into the bottom corner. Full time 9-1.
Sam was voted parents MOTM.
