Braces for Alfie and Sam
Our only previous game against Hanwell Town C was a 3-6 defeat, 5 a-side over a year ago.
Goals - 2 Alfie, 2 Sam, 2 Riley, Joe & Thomas.
We started brightly with an Emilis shot being tipped round the post for a corner. Riley was then clean through twice, but first shot wide then forced a goal-line clearance. Alfie then opened his account for the season with a crisp finish. Alfie then added a second latching onto a Riley pass he took two bites, but the keeper couldn't handle the power on the second shot and fumbled it in 2-0. Emilis took on a shot from outside the area, but was not able to keep it down and it sailed high and handsome. Second quarter Thomas broke away, but the keeper made an excellent save to push the ball round the post. We then had a decent delivery from a Riley corner on the right which Joe converted near post, 3-0 Half Time.
Shortly after half time, Thomas was then able to crash a shot into the top right corner. Riley then went on a solo dribble, before passing the ball in for 5-0. Chris had a decent run, dancing past three Hanwell players, but shot into the side netting. Another Riley strike to extended the lead to 6-0. The final quarter saw Sam and Chris pushed into midfield, it wasn't long before Chris ran down the wing and crossed for Sam, but he couldn't finish. Shortly after a Sam shot hit the post and then he buried the rebound for 7-0. Sam had added an eighth before Hanwell hit us on the break for a consolation goal. Alfie thought he had completed his hatrick only for the referee to rule it out as he blew up before it crossed the line.
Towns manager said this was by far their heaviest defeat and also added he was without his two main goal scorers.
