After last week's snow and boys off ill this week - I wasn't sure what to expect. The weather was wet and dreary and the middle of the pitch looked a bit of a mud bath but the boys brought the sunshine and were on fire - the best I have seen them play in a while.
First goal of the match went to Kyle with a beautiful cross about 10 minutes in and from there the boys lit up the pitch. St Joseph's kept attacking but thanks to some great defence, some excellent wing work by Will and passing on of the ball by Harry, Sam scored 2 goals in quick succession. Jamie, recovering from his bout of flu, made some fabulous saves even taking an accidental boot to the chin. Wealdstone kept control and Harry scored our 4th goal before half time.
Second half and St Joseph's were on the attack and refreshed pulled a goal back despite some excellent defence by Rhys, Max and Flynn. Everyone was in the zone but thanks to some fantastic passing and skilful football, Harry scored 2 more goals. With the weather and the pitch conditions slowly deteriorating St Joseph's pulled one more goal back to make the final score 6-2.
All the boys played fantastically and thanks to Lee and Jon for all their hard work, we look forward to what 2018 has to bring us.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
