Middlesex Cup Match
A physical game
Today's match was at least played in, if not bright sunshine, the dry. The match was hard fought by both sides but a fabulous goal in the first half by Harry set the winning frame of mind for Wealdstone Yellow. The ball was busy at both ends of the pitch with Broadwater playing a very physical game (apparently they were a year younger than our boys). EJ scored a second goal before half time after the ball refused to go in the net despite skimming past the goal mouth on 3 occasions.
The second half again bought a physical game to the field and despite some excellent defending by Rishi and Rhys Broadwater scored to make it 2-1. Unfortunately Harry took an elbow to the nose and came off nursing a nose bleed close to the end of the second half. Wealdstone was then awarded a penalty taken resolutely by Rojas which made the score 3-1 at the final whistle.
