Boys notch up good win against decent team despite refs best efforts
A windy morning outside Wormwood Scubbs prison was the setting for today's match. Quite apt considering how many of the refs decisions were criminal!
The boys started slow as they often do and found themselves 2-0 down and as generally happens they react. The boys went up a gear and started playing with a bit more urgency and intensity. Ashton really strong in the tackle and quick to get forward started to put the pressure on. They got themselves level with first a goal by Kallum cut back from a run down the wing by Amari. Then Luca put through by George to score a very well taken goal to go 2-2. The boys then went 3-2 up with another goal by Kallum. Polonia then managed to equalise not surprising given the number of throw ins and free kicks given their way by the ref and the constant push and pull tackles by them he chose to ignore. The boys kept going and when the ball fell to Kallum quite a way out he struck it superbly to hit the top right corner to make it 4-3. Polonia had a few chances on the break but Caden doing well in goal and coming off his line to clear and George and Spencer tackling hard kept them at bay. Near the end we were given a free kick (so blatant not even this ref could ignore!) around half way between the half way line and penalty area. Amari stepped up and banged it so sweetly it went in off the underside of the crossbar to make it 5-3.
Individually the boys done well today but if they start passing a bit more they will start to blow a lot of teams away. Some real talent in this group of boys. Well done on a deserved win!
