TFA turned up late, only had 4 players without all their players cards or shin pads. They forfeited the game with a 1-0 loss but we still wanted a game so agreed for one of their team’s older brother to play in goal. This made for a frustrating first half as their keeper was very hard to beat due to his obvious age advantage. Oscar had his obligatory shot from the half way line, missing by a fraction. Our boys did well to keep battling and make chances and finding space whilst TFA were happy to hit us on the break with long balls from their keeper. This finally paid off for them when they got a one on one with the keeper and put it away. To add to our frustration George was clearly not himself and had to come off feeling unwell. At half time we were annoyed as their keeper was the difference and on another day Aiden would have been on the scoresheet.
As usual we got stronger as the game went on and started to dominate possession and tackled strongly winning back the ball in dangerous positions. Harry Snee was growing in confidence beating his man on a regular basis. The second half passing saw us produce some outstanding moves with Adam showing great vision threading passes to our ever willing runners. The pressure was building and we finally beat the keeper when Thomas confidently slotted home after Harrison beat two and played him in across goal. A great performance by our team which felt like a win due to the amount of chances we created and their player advantage.
