Unlucky to lose
Well fought game....
The boys played outstandingly in this fixture and were really unlucky to lose the game. We were by far the better side on the day but Ruislip Rangers had an extra player by way of the woodwork which stopped a number of our shots from going in.
We started the first quarter really well and took the lead when Urrav Macwan
pressured their goalkeeper into making a mistake and he managed to slot the ball home. However Ruislip Rangers responded immediately and levelled the scored due to some poor marking and not getting rid of the ball from our area.
The second quarter saw Ruislip Rangers attacking more and grow in confidence which resulted in them taking the lead.
The third quarter saw the boys battling hard and winning the ball more and we managed to level the score with Urrav Macwan
getting his second goal from a throw in taken by Harrison Cook
. This was a great quarter for the boys, as they passed the ball well and created numerous chances and by now realistically we should have scored 7 goals as Urrav hit the woodwork 4 times and Harrison once but it just wasn't going to be and the final quarter saw Ruislip Rangers score another 2 goals to end the game with a final score of 4 - 2 and a win.
Although a loss it was a great game of football and all the boys played exceptionally well, especially Urrav Macwan
who not only got a brace but was also man of the match for his fantastic performance. A special mention to Sammy Ellis
too, who despite having an injury to his foot showed great courage and determination to play.
