Princes Park vs Wealdstone U10 Red
By Aidan King
Good result for Wealdstone
Princes Park are a new team to the league and we have not played them previously so we were unsure of what to expect from them. After a not so good run of results of late Wealdstone were looking to put in a strong performance and hopefully convert a greater number of the opportunities that they create. The pitch was in fair condition but had a slope running both down the pitch and from side to side. The weather was bright and warm and some of the boys removed their under garments in the warm up as the weather was so good.

This was a game of two halves with the first half being very tight and with missed chances, the second half was almost completely dominated by Wealdstone and converted chances. In the first half we played well and we were compact and created some good chances while keeping Princes Park to only a few half chances. The second half started well with us scoring early and making all the running, we made a lot of chances and really made it difficult for Princes Park to get out of their half. The team played really well today, their attitude was really good and they kept playing for each other throughout the whole match. There was a lot of really good passing and moving as well as players covering and tracking back when needed. We seemed to play more direct today, getting more shots away or getting the ball into the box more quickly. Hopefully this can kick start us into scoring a few more goals and getting the wins we often deserve but do not get.
