Ruislip Rangers vs Wealdstone U10 Red
Wealdstone lose against local rivals
After the disappointing result from the previous week, which finished our winning run, a game against our local rivals was probably the ideal game to get the team focused and hopefully get us back to winning ways. After losing all our games against Ruislip in the first two seasons Wealdstone really turned this around last season with two wins and a draw, so the form was on our side. Ruislip’s home ground pitch has not held up to the weather so the game was played on 4G astro turf. The weather was very cold but thankfully there was no sign of rain.

This was another disappointing defeat Wealdstone started the game very well and had opportunities to take the lead but Ruislip grew into the game very well and were very comfortable on the ball. Once Ruislip scores the first goal they looked very good and dangerous every time they attacked. When Wealdstone got their passing game together they showed spells of really good passing where they really threatened the Ruislip goal. The last period of the game Wealdstone played with one defender which allowed us to be more attacking but unfortunately left us very exposed at the back, Ruislip are a team that can mix between passing and movement and dribbling which meant when they were two/three against one it became an almost impossible job to prevent Ruislip having shots on goal. The result of this was a very frantic finish to the game, although this made for a very entertaining game for the spectators.
