Impressive win in all round excellent team performance

Blues hit four and it could have been more!

Today we played TFA Totteridge who we played out a 1-1 draw with just after Xmas. We were determined to build on last weeks first half performance and push on.
We welcomed our twins Tyrai and Tajuan back into the team along with Harry in goal after missing last weeks game and with the squad looking strong we fancied our chances. We chose to continue with James in the middle and Lewis T on the left which worked well last week and set the team up to really go out and give 100% asking the boys to communicate better and move the ball quick and with every opportunity.

We started well and just like last week took a deserved lead when Tajuan picked up the ball from Harry and burst forward taking on 3 or 4 players and playing in Mason who smashed it in top corner. TFA had a few chances mainly from free kicks as Sid and Tajuan mopped up most of their attacks. Their equaliser came from a free kick when a fierce shot pushed out by Harry and not cleared (yet again!) was pushed home for an equaliser. We continued to play well in what was an entertaining game. Lewis T excellent on the wing and James controlling the middle. Danny on the wing was his usual energetic bag of tricks and a constant menace. Mason up top continued on from last week with some excellent forward play, pressing their defence and also added some more passing to his game. Tyrai on the wing started slow but again showed what we've seen recently, dangerous going forward and worked hard battling back. Oliver done well in the middle spotted some keys passes and protecting the defence.

Second half 1-1 and going downhill we fancied our chances. We continued as we had in the first half and with Tyrai now really in the game it was pretty much all Wealdstone. Constant pressure on TFA I could sense a goal was coming and eventually it did as Tyrai finished well to give us a deserved lead. A further and deserved well taken goal from Lewis T saw us go further ahead and it really only looked like there would be one winner. Most of TFAs chances came from free kicks or corners which Harry dealt with well as Sid Tajuan James and Oliver were all rock solid at the back. Danny was constantly attacking up the right wing cutting across and the excellent Mason got his reward for his energy and effort with a fourth and final goal.

What was really pleasing today was the determination, effort and team play. From front to back we were excellent. Harry in goal dealt with pretty much everything he needed to, at the back Sid, Tajuan and Oliver and James were excellent coming out with the ball and setting off the midfield. In the middle James had another really good game showing good vision with his passes calm in possession and strong in the tackle, Oliver also spotted some good passes and protected the defence well. Lewis T, Tyrai and Danny on the wings worked tirelessly constantly putting pressure on TFA and passing really well. Finally up top Mason had an excellent game as last weeks first half performance and got his reward this time with 2 goals.

MOM was a hard one as all the boys stepped up today but the one who stood out from start to finish was Tajuan who quite simply was a beast at the back and a real threat going forward.

Goals Mason 2, Tyrai, Lewis T
Assists Tajuan 2, Lewis T, Danny
MOM, Tajuan
