100% for Hillingdon District

2 years ago By Jay Hogg

Hillingdon remain unbeaten!!!

Hillingdon District had a day to remember after winning the league 2 weeks ago the boys played there final league game of the season away to Haringey. Hillingdon were looking to win the game and maintain their 100% record in the league.

The day started with the whole squad myself and coach Angus meeting at Hillingdon station were we all got on the team mini bus a nice surprise for the boys a massive thanks to Leo the driver and Brad for arranging this. When we arrived it was not quite what we wanted a 4g pitch no line markings and just a shambles to be honest. All that a side the boys knew they had a job to do and had 3 points to grab.

The squad was Jake, Luke, Josh, Lewis, Ryan, Domm, Jack, Reece, Alfie, Ben, Mathew, Harry and Rosharn.

The boys were excellent playing some superb football and playing the ref for most of the game. Hillingdon went ahead with Ryan opening the scoring a very good finish. Hillingdon had chances to make it 2 Alfie had 2 free kicks saved; Reece worked his socks off and had 1 very good chance. Alfie crossed a ball for Jack who volleyed over the bar. Chances were created but we couldn’t take them.

The boys at the back were solid Luke, Lewis, Josh and Jake keeping calm playing some very attractive football and never looked under threat. Hillingdon went 2-0 Ryan again the scorer a in swinging free kick was missed by everyone straight into the net, Alfie and Reece both making a claim of a touch but the goal is given to Ryan.

Haringey then grabbed a goal back a complete deliberate hand ball and completely against the run of play, a long ball over the top their striker handled the ball to beat Josh then hit the ball into the net. How it was not seen is unbelievable however the goal was given and it was game on.

Hillingdon then made it 3-1 a quick corner by Ryan to Domm he showed great skill with quick feet to beat 1 player then hit a good effort low and hard beyond the keeper and score his first goal for the district.

Half time Hillingdon 3 Harringey 1

The second half was all Hillingdon and we had so many chances to score Alfie had some good chances and perhaps could have gone with his right foot instead tried with his left, Ben had 2 good efforts the first just wide of the post the second well saved. Mathew and Harry playing some great football and both had a chance to score.

Hillingdon were then awarded a penalty after so many fouls finally one was given a late challenge on Alfie and Lewis with the chance from the spot. The penalty was well saved but to be honest there was no penalty spot and no pitch markings it was so far from the goal it was silly.

Hillingdon then wrapped up the 3 points with the 4th goa of the game a great move down the right hand side Alfie cutting the ball back to the edge of the box and Ryan smashing his effort past the keeper to complete a very good hat trick.

The game ended with Hillingdon winning 4-1 and deservedly so man of the match Ryan 3 goals and 1 assist.

All the boys deserve a massive applaud a tremendous achievement not only to win the league but maintain a 100% record. They have all been a privilege to work with as I am sure Angus will agree. The lads have done themselves their clubs and Hillingdon VERY proud.
